WELCOME TO YOUR WATERSHED

Ever wonder where your water comes from?  What difference you can make in keeping it clean and healthy?  With miles of coastline, countless rivers, streams, lakes and wetlands, water is the link that connects our community.

WSU Extension is here to provide research and education on water and water issues in Jefferson County.  Our website is built to give you access to the current events, research and educational programs that support community education and stewardship of our waters.   Our office also provides printed material on native landscaping, stormwater, rain garden construction, Low Impact Development, shoreline managment and numerous other publications from WSU and partnering agencies.  Please call us at 379-5610 x 204.

Each year in March, WSU Jefferson County Extension provides training for people interested in learning more about their watershed.  Consider taking the training.  Click here for more information.

Be sure to check out the water-related links on the upper left side of this webpage!

Partners for a Healthier Puget Sound

Washington State University scientists, along with hundreds of volunteers (including groups such as Beach Watchers), are working together to promote the health of Puget Sound. Together, their work insures clean water for humans and restored habit for salmon and other animals and plants.
